The Asylum's 2019 "mockbuster," "Monster Island," came out around the same time as "Godzilla: King of the Monsters." It is about an island called Monster Island where a monster lives. The monster is in some ways the island.


Because this movie is about an asylum, it has the same budget as a big kid’s meal but uses it sparingly. It only features a few characters, and all (new update) the major actors are on one set. This allows for quick filming during lunch breaks. It is a kaiju movie and that's just how they do, so perhaps The Asylum won’t do such an awful job.
